The Travelmaster 2.9 is our most versatile heavy-duty trekking bicycle, designed with input from countless Santos riders to create the ultimate touring bike.
One of the key requests was comfort. That's why the Travelmaster 2.9 features large wheels with wide tires, offering excellent air suspension, plenty of grip, and low rolling resistance. It can even be equipped with a suspension fork! The frame is specifically built for this, resulting in the raised front end. This geometry allows for an extra comfortable riding position and space for multiple water bottles. For those who prefer a sportier, more aerodynamic posture, that's also an option.
The Travelmaster 2.9 is a true Santos: built for maximum durability with minimal maintenance. This is ensured by the Rohloff hub with belt drive. For the brakes, you can choose from various options: hydraulic Magura rim brakes, V-brakes, or disc brakes.
Since the Travelmaster 2.9 is often heavily loaded for long journeys, it comes with our famous, super-strong Santos wheels and sturdy racks to handle the weight without wobbling. The Travelmaster 2.9 frame can accommodate up to three Santos Hold-alls for large water bottles. And with the Adventure Fork a total of five Santos Hold-alls can be installed on the bike. No need for camels anymore – with the Travelmaster 2.9, you can conquer even a desert!

Ultrareliable Rohloff hub
The Rohloff internal speed hub offers a carefree cycing experience far off the beaten track. It will lead you to and from all corners of the world. A litte oil is all it ever needs. The combination Rohloff hub + Santos belt drive has been a succesful one ever since 2009.
The Rohloff hub has 14 gears and is available in 6 colors.
Silent and smooth
High precision Pinion gearbox
Pinion is modeled after proven automobile transmission technology and offers an ultra wide gear range. It is centrally integrated in the bicycle frame, wear-free, and extremely reliable. The unique combination with a Santos belt drive makes it super durable and very low maintenance.
The Pinion box offers 12 or 18 gears.

E-bike ready
The Travelmaster 2.9 is designed with the future in mind. It is E-bike ready. This means the bike can be converted into an E-bike whenever you wish to do so.
It has a strong motor and a large battery for a long riding range. We have opted for a modular system to offer you maximum flexibility. Both now and later.
Powerful hydraulic disc brakes
The strongest brakes with the most powerful braking power. Ready for long downhills. Depening on your goals, we offer different types of discs.
The Hope disc brakes have 4 pistons and extra large steel Santos (203 mm) and extra thick (3.5 mm) discs.
Or go for the hydraulic Shimano XT disc brakes with 180 mm steel Santos discs. Choose what suits you best.
Robust hydraulic rim brakes
The hydraulic rim brakes by Magura are robust and durable. They brake firmly and directly and are easy to dose. With the control wheel attached to the brake lever you can easily adjust the braking power; either more aggressively or with a more friendly stroke.
Changing brake pads is a piece of cake: no tools are needed and it's done within 5 minutes.
Powerful brakes
The Santos 2-in-1 brake booster is the only booster that allows you to mount the hydraulic Magura brakes on a 27,5 inch wheel with 62mm tires and mudguards. It is lighter and provides more braking power. It is a brake booster and mounting plate in one. Made of aluminum, so it won't rust. Good to know: it is easy to change and simple to use.
Plugless hub dynamo
If you opt for SON lighting, you get a beautiful headlight with a wide and clear beam. This is a distinctive feature of the SON headlights. The connection to the hub dynamo is plugless, which makes it easy to take out the wheel. We mount the lamp on a Santos light bracket. so it shines perfectly over your tire and remains neatly upright.
The SON lamps are available in 6 colors, just like the corresponding hub dynamo and rear lamp.
Designed for Heavy-Duty Work
The Travelmaster 2.9 features a raised front end that accommodates both rigid and suspension forks.
We have developed our own rigid fork, specifically designed for the Travelmaster 2.9. This stable, steel 29er fork is equipped with lowrider mounts, making it suitable for heavy-duty work, and it incorporates several convenient details. You can easily mount a Son SL light on it, ensuring that your light is always straight and the cables are neatly guided along the frame.
It is available in four versions: rim brake, disc brake, Firmtech, and the rim brake/disc brake combination.
Additionally, the aluminum Santos Adventure fork is compatible with the disc brake version of the Travelmaster 2.9. This fork allows you to choose lowriders, such as the Santos TwinRack, or mount up to five Anything Cages distributed across the bike, with two on the front fork and three on the frame.
Standardized parts, available all over the world
We all break things from time to time. No need to worry when that happens. We have designed the Travelmaster 2.9 modularly with as many standardized parts as possible. In the rare case that something breaks down, you will still be able to get it fixed. Even on the other side of the world.
For instance, we mount the Hydraulic Magura rim brakes on standardized cantilever inserts. These fit the commen V-brakes too. And cables are guided outside the frame to make replacing the brakes easy for you.
The headset and the quick releases have a standard size. The square bracket with BSA thread is also available anywhere in the world.
Furthermore, we have kept as much screw thread outside the frame as possible. Such as the attachment of the kickstand, the bracket case, the split part for your belt and the disc brakes. If you accidentally tighten a bolt too hard, you only have to replace that particular part and your frame is still intact.
