Direct-drive

The engine is the crank and therefore delivers its power wherever you do it: where it is needed. There is no transmission and that makes the Santos Pendix system quiet, efficient and simple (reliable).

Have you noticed that the system continues for a little while when you stop pedaling? This is the response time of the system. You will easily get used to it. .

Direct drive can only be used with platform pedals.

Due to the expansion of our Power Series with a mid-engine model (Pendix), it is now possible customize a Santos E-bike with Rohloff hub.

The use of the Rohloff hub in combination with Santos belt drive has proven to be durable and low-maintenance for years.

Santos Pendix riders get the exclusive possibility to rent an extra battery for 10 euros per week. Handy for your next holiday or daily commute.

Currently it is only possible to collect the battery from Santos in Nieuw-Vennep, due to high transport costs.

What's the range of a Santos E-bike with Pendix ?

The exact range of an E-bike depends on many factors. Think of air resistance, rolling resistance, the extent to which you ride along, your own weight and the mode you use while cycling.
Experience shows that the range of a Santos E-bike with a 500Wh battery is between 25 and 100km.

Tip: Would you like to extend your range? You can easily carry an extra battery in the Hold-it-All or in a pannier.

The capacity of a battery cell is practically the same for every E-bike. How much range you get from a certain amount of battery cells depends on:
1. How many 'cells' your battery us made of (more cells, more capacity).
2. The circumstances in which you ride your bike.
3. Support mode (and the firmware that goes with it)
4. Efficiency of the system.

What's the Q-factor for a Santos with Pendix mid-engine?

The Q-factor for a Santos with Pendix mid-engine is 205mm, measured from the outside of one crank to the outside of the other crank.
