What happened before our arrival at the start in Argentina?

Now at the start! We decided to drastically change our lives and embark on a big cycling adventure: 25.000 km in 20 months. It has taken us almost a year to prepare. Now the big moment is finally here! We have quit our jobs and flown from our home in Denmark to the starting point in Argentina.

The Americas by bike - Preparations for our big adventure

We are Martin (very experienced cyclist) and Katja (cyclist since Summer 2021). Both from Denmark. Both Santos riders. Early 2022 we will embark on a big adventure: we will quit our jobs to cycle from South to North America! 25.000 kilometers in 20 months. In the forthcoming blogs we will tell you all about it. The dream of the Danish couple Martin and Katja was to cycle from the southernmost city in the world, Ushuaia in Argentina, to Vancouver in North America. In the summer of 2021, they visited Santos to each purchase a Travelmaster 3+. Martin had already cycled through more than 50 countries, while everything was still new for Katja. According to Martin, she would quickly get the hang of it on the road, and that proved to be true.

Together, they covered 22,600 kilometers in 21 months. They rode past glaciers, across vast plains, and through rugged mountain landscapes. Over gravel, steep paths, and smooth asphalt. They went wild camping, slept under the starry sky, and were often hospitably received by the local population, where they got to know different customs and cultures.

Upon their return on October 4, 2023, they immediately began planning their next cycling adventure: from Kathmandu to Istanbul. Since mid-April, they have been on the road again, together with their Travelmaster 3+.
